Mengi Yay Yachts' new custom steel explorer, NB 111 Cabana, has been shortlisted for the Motor Yacht 25-40 Metres Award at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2026.
Built on a 35-metre hull, the yacht was conceived to punch above its size class — delivering the roominess and onboard ease normally reserved for far larger vessels, without sacrificing sleek proportions or naval-architectural efficiency. The shipyard's guiding principle was balance: interior volume, outdoor living areas, and technical spaces were all weighed against one another, resulting in a vessel equally at home hosting long-range voyages, lively gatherings, or quiet solo escapes.
Alfresco living takes centre stage. A sweeping beach club with a fold-out transom platform puts guests right at the waterline, while the three deck levels alternate between lively communal spaces and more secluded corners. The sundeck, sheltered under a hardtop, serves as the social heart of the yacht — combining built-in sun loungers, a U-shaped dining table, and a low-key dry bar built for use from morning through nightfall.
Rather than treating indoor and outdoor zones as distinct, the design threads them together into one continuous experience, with wide sightlines and natural light running throughout — echoing the yacht's overall ethos of clean functionality and quiet elegance.
What sets NB 111 Cabana apart, above all, is how much usable space Mengi Yay Yachts has extracted from a 35-metre footprint, producing a serene, cohesive living environment more typical of much larger superyachts.
